Body Scientific’s Anatomy Honored with Two AMI Awards

We are proud to announce that Body Scientific’s Anatomy – An Overview of the Human Body has received two awards from the Association of Medical Illustrators (AMI): the Award of Excellence and the Social Impact Award.

This recognition is especially meaningful to Body Scientific. The book was created to combine exceptional medical illustration and accessible anatomy education with a commitment to greater representation. Throughout the publication, people of color are intentionally represented across the medical artwork, helping more students see themselves reflected in the study of the human body.

The awards recognize both the visual and educational quality of the publication and its broader social impact—two goals that have been at the heart of this project from the beginning.

We are incredibly grateful to the talented medical illustrators, subject matter experts, reviewers, educators, and contributors whose expertise helped bring this book to life. We also thank Dr. Shaquille O’Neal for believing in the project and contributing the book’s foreword.
