Marcelo Oliver, medical illustrator and founder of Body Scientific, will present “Representation in Anatomy: A Journey through Illustration, Publishing, and Change.” Drawing from more than 30 years in the field, Marcelo will talk about his journey, and how representation in anatomy publishing has evolved—and how intentional, inclusive imagery can shape the future of medical education.

This discussion takes place during Black in Anatomy Week 2025, themed “Connection.” The week celebrates five years of Black in Anatomy’s advocacy, creativity, and leadership in building a more inclusive anatomical sciences community.

Body Scientific shares that vision of connection—linking art, education, and representation in every illustration we create.

Join us on October 15 at 3:30 PM EDT for this inspiring conversation.

Let’s celebrate World Anatomy Day toget

her and continue shaping a more inclusive future for anatomy education.
